Blogging for money sounds great, isn’t it? Setting up a blog and start making money blogging is something you could start right now, and within a year you’ll be driving a Ferrari with a hot girl (or boy) next to you, going to expensive restaurants and buying expensive stuff.
While this can be achieved, blogging for money requires several virtues.
Several virtues and strategies / tips that will help you in your way to make money blogging.
Anyway, you must have something that stand you out of the crowd, because most of niches are way oversaturated. But I’d say this is a bit tricky. There aren’t so many blogs talking about how to make money blogging, as an example… Let me explain it:
Tons are started each month, but even more of them disappear too within that timeframe. I’d say the trick here is to 
stay there and keep blogging. And there goes tips number one and two.
3) Good niche: It’s hard to give a definition of good niche. I’d say a good niche is a not too much saturated niche, that provides something usefull to readers and, of course, a niche you know about.
4) Niche that sells: Another characteristic that defines a good niche. If you want to make money blogging you MUST choosing a niche that can provide you sales. As an example a technology blog will have it “easy” to sell computers – related products. Think before you set up your blog.
5) Diversification: I wrote a post about it (Make money blogging – part I). You MUST expand your income sources. And even more when starting. Google Adsense won’t get you more than a few pennies per month, unless you receive tons of traffic and have a great CPC rate. You can make money from almost everything out there (twitter, feed…)
6) Market yourself: I always say it. Carl Ocab says it. Build yourself a profile using forums, social media… You can find tips here about how to promote yourself.
7) A blog: Smart, isn’t it? You need a blog to make money blogging… Now, seriously if you don’t have a blog, get one. These days it’s easier and cheaper than eating at Mc Donald’s, and most of times people don’t make one just because of laziness. You may be the next problogger, get to work!
8 ) Design a strategy: Making money blogging is not like setting up a blog, write four posts and start getting $40K next month. You need to set up a plan about what your blog will be about, analyzing competitors, backlinks resources, etc. Apart from that, using the Google Adword Keyword Tool is essential to trace a plan.
9) Try, try, try: Try everything you can, unless it could hurt your reputation or SERP. Are you using Adense? Try different ad positions, colours, etc. Didn’t try affiliate marketing yet? Analyze your audience and try adding affiliate ads, maybe even posts about an affiliate product you found usefull. Try.
10) Traffic: Of course you need traffic not only to make money blogging, but to everything on the blogging world, unless you have a very very personal blog. So…
11) SEO: … You need SEO. I think some bloggers are affraid of SEO. They see Google as a monster that can make your blog fall on ranks and literally kill it. I see SEO as a game. I know Google, I know what Google likes, so I give Google what it wants. It’s really that simple. SEO it’s funny!
12) Patience: Tons of patience. That’s an obvious one too. The Make money blogging journey requires a lot of time, but just like SEO and getting traffic, as an example. Get out of the blogging world if you’re not ready to spend tons of hours.
Making money blogging is a pretty hard task, but when achieved, it’s the ultimate way of living. If I ever make a living from my blogs, I wouldn’t care about how much I make, I would care about the free time I could have.
It’s ok to monetize a blog, but don’t start just to make money blogging, really, you will get tired before you build a loyal readers group.

I love tips #1 and #2.
A lot of people think that there’s TONS of make money blogs out there, but the truth is, there’s not a lot that are updated consistently.
I found this out the other day while browsing for blogs to read and comment on. Most of them were spam, scams, blogs made just for google (which means it makes no sense to the reader) and blogs that hadn’t been updated in months or YEARS.
But this is a good thing for people like us that realize this and know that one of the keys to becoming the next problogger is to keep blogging (continuously) and to keep trying.

Great tips Sam
Some people think that making money blogging is just simply setting up a blog, putting content on it and monitizing it, but in reality we all know that its not true.
Making money with blogs is actually quite difficult as we bloggers have to consistantly promote our blogs and creat new content for our blogs almost on a daily basis.
There are many different ways to make money with blogs, but you need to work hard and work smart to achieve it.

Great list Sam and I agree with TeenBlogger, making money with your blog is hard work. I’ve had my blog for over a year and still don’t make much money, but I enjoy writing and some day I’m sure I’ll buckle down and do the things I need to do to make money.
