For those who don’t know about it, Chitika is one of those Ad Networks that allow bloggers like me to make money blogging by displaying targeted ads.

AdBrite is one of those hundreds of Advertising Networks out there, but, from my point of view, it has something special.

Remember that one of the big differences between a blogger that makes money blogging and one that doesn’t is that the first is using every source possible, the second isn’t.

That’s why you need to use every source that’s legal, and AdBrite is one of them.

For those who are already wondering, yes, you can use both Adsense and AdBrite on your site without the fear to be banned from any of them.

I said that AdBrite has something special because it stands out from the regular advertising network by displaying ads from several ways, such as:

-          Text Ads: Just like the regulars Google Adsense ads, but instead of Ads by Google you will find Ads by AdBrite (I personally hate that attribution, we all could get more clicks if we could remove it).

You choose the size and the ad format and you’re ready to go. The ad would looks like this:

The tip here would be to use the same colors you’re using with Google Adsense ads, if you’re using both, as they would fit better.

-          Banner Ads: The typical banner used on different sizes (468×60, 728×90, 300×250, 120×600, 160×600).

The tip here is to try with all those sized, analyze the results and stick with the ones that give better result.

-          Rich Media Ads: For selective people only. You will want to contact AdBrite Support and request to enter.

One of the main benefits from setting up a blog is gaining exposure.

A blog not only gives your business a personal touch and a frequently updated content, but it also allows you to promote a particular product like you couldn’t before.

As off that, you can make money blogging by advertising affiliate products within your blog, so I’ve came today with three very simple steps that doubled my sales.

If it’s hard to sell something physically, multiply it for 5 and you’ll get how hard is to sell online.

But you can use some easy tips that will increase your sales, guaranteed. Those tips are so easy and obvious that people just don’t think about and fail to apply.

The image below shows a screenshot from my paypal account getting money from advertising products both here on my blog and advertising somewhere else a single product (using cpc and even ptc sites might be a good idea) , so advertising more could bring you even more possibilities

So the first thing you need to know is that people don’t like to spend money (obvious) so you need to offer something more than just a single product. And that’s the first tip.

Tips to increase your sales

1)      Offer: Offering something apart from the product is a great way to increase your sales. You could offer a discount (20% discount if you buy it), you could also give a free pdf report about something related to that product.

You can also give away another product, a 2×1. You only need to make calculations so you never lose money.

Some people have problems giving away a discount because they don’t see any options on their sales page. It’s very simple. You just need to check / ask for the email address used to process the payment and send back the amount dealt.

2)      Targeted ads: Don’t just get a product and buy ads to promote it. Research first, action second.

You need to take into consideration every factor, such as age (VERY important, as guys below age 18 won’t have a credit card so the possibility to get a sale goes down), sex, location…

You just need to set up a filter and you’re set.

3)      Cheap products: As I said before, people don’t like to spend money, and if they have to, they’ll go for the cheapest product.

If the price for the product A goes down and the price from the product B stays the same, the demand from the product A will increase compared to the demand for the product B, which will eventually go down. Economy 101.

If you have a product that’s inevitably expensive because of its quality, just go to the first point of this post and offer a discount.

4)      Bonus – Giving proofs or even a review will have a great impact on your sales rate. When a customer doesn’t buy a product is either because it doesn’t have the money to buy it or because lack of trustfulness.

Showing some proofs about the benefits about using / buying the product will increase your sales rate.

The most hard part about selling a product and succeed is the research. It’s a long process that will take you a lot of time, but here, time is money.

Avoiding risks by setting targeted ads is equal to avoid throwing money.

With Twitter, you, as a blogger, can get traffic, reputation, and now, make money. I already posted about some ways to make money using Twitter.

I recently knew about another service, so today, I’d like to show you another way.

I’m talking about Ad.ly.

What is Ad.ly?

Ad.ly is an in-stream advertising platform that matches top-tier Twitter publishers with top-tier brands.

In other words, a Twitter – Adsense service. The advertiser pays you for tweeting a message, you earn.

There’s really no limit about the amount you can earn. I’ve seen 4-5 digits per tweet, so go figure.

Obviously, the more followers you have, the higher amount of money you can request for twetting a message.

The good thing here is that you’ll get paid even if the link advertised isn’t clicked, so it’s guaranteed money.

How does it works?

Ad.ly automatically sends 1 tweet in your feed every day from advertisers that you approve. With Ad.ly, you approve every tweet/ad that is sent in your feed. You set the price per tweet that advertisers pay (don’t worry, our system will suggest a price for your account).

So not only you get paid to tweet, but you have the chance to choose what you advertise and what you don’t.

Can it hurt you? Not at all, you choose whether an ad is good or not for you, so you don’t need to worry about your followers.

So, here’s another way to make money using Twitter. You just need to apply and hope to get approved.

I love testing new ways to make money blogging. For the new readers coming, this is a blog that gives blogging tips to make money blogging, and each and every source counts.

Today I would like to share a personal experience I’ve had before, on my spanish blog, what may be considered as a different way to make money blogging.

It all begun, as I said, with my spanish blog about Agloco (some of you may remember about AllAdvantages 2.0). When they closed down, I decided to expand my blog, turning it on to a blog that showed ways to make money online.

After two years and without even notice it, my blog was ranking number 2 on Google for the keyword make money online (spanish keyword, that is) so I got flooded with emails from advertisers.

I’ve shared with you this story because it leads me to today’s topic. One of those messages was asking me if I could make a post including a pool on it. Specifically, a “Guest Pool”.

The pool’s question and options were defined by the “advertiser”, I just had to copy and paste on my blog.

Why did that blogger decided to guest pooling on my blog?

Because he was just starting, so in order to make a good market analyzing and research, he decided to pay me to get answers from a targeted audience.

The results were a great pool with great info and results for the “advertiser” and $30 for me for posting the pool and leaving it on my sidebar for a week.

You can make money blogging using this technique, although it won’t be your top income source, you can include this option on your advertising page (I recently made a post about how to make a good advertising page) so people know how to take advantage from your blog and audience.

Apart from that, remember that my tips aren’t an ABC to make $5,000 per month just by doing this.
Ok, let’s get to work.

Blogging tips to make money blogging

- Alt tags: This is a SEO tip. I’m amazed about how many people just forget about the alts tags. Alt tags will include text within an image, but text only read by Search Engines spiders, so it’s useful to include keywords on it and optimize even more your website. You can include alt tag by editing the html code, as an example:
< img src=”image.jpg” border=”0″ alt=”alt text here” width=”44″ height=”97″ / >

- Be funny: If you give good tips, good content, great. But if apart from that you drop funny comments and give your posts a funny touch, you’ll get more loyal readers. Personally, I’ll stick with a blog that’s funny rather than a boring blog. Don’t overact, though.

- Email list: Want to make money blogging? Then you MUST have an email list. I made a post about how to build an email list quite a long time ago. You can read it to find more details about it, but to sum it up, let me tell you that having an email list with, say, 20,000 emails, means that you will be able to promote a product to 20,000 targeted persons. Feel the power? If you ever want to do it, Aweber is the way to go.

- Profiting from inspiring days: Don’t you have had days where you feel you write easier? Use these kinds of days to make a few posts and saving them as drafts. As you have good days, you’ll also have bad days, and people will feel it. As a result, these bad days you’ll write worse content, so if you save some drafts from those inspiring days, you’ll be able to use them and avoid these depressing days. This is a writing tip that has helped me quite a lot.

- Linking your blog: Remember that humans are lazy. The more you can link your site, the better. I’ll use this post as an example. I’ve made two blogging tips to make money blogging posts before this one. I’ve recommended them at the top of the post, but I didn’t write “ You can surf my blog and check these posts “, instead of that, I linked the posts so visitors just have to make a click to get the content. It’s important, always make your blog’s navigation a simple task.

- Be unique: It’s obvious, but some people just stick with the “write great content” tip, so they “take” others content and post them on their blogs. Hey, if I take problogger’s content and paste it here, that’s still great content isn’t it? That’s the wrong way. Take your time and write your own content. You’ll get a higher SERP, as Google likes fresh and unique content. Don’t worry if you’re new to blogging and take quite a lot time to write it, practice makes perfect. Apart from that, you will lose all your popularity. If you haven’t yet, you won’t be able to build it, ever.

- Avoiding spam: Avoid both in and out going spam. To avoid spam on your blog you just need to moderate the comments and using the Akismet plugin. Be patient and you won’t spam, as the main reason to spam is the lack of patience. Don’t want results within the first days. Blogging takes time. A LOT of time. Again, spamming will make you lose credibility.

- Full feed: Are you posting more than 4 times per day? If not, then offer a full feed.

- Don’t bother readers: Monetizing a blog it’s ok. There’s nothing wrong if you want to make money blogging, but don’t bother your readers. Avoid pup ups, as visitors HATE them (I hate them too). Be careful about the in posts ads you place. Kontera is great about in post ads that won’t bother your readers. It’s ok if you want to put self sponsored ads or Google Adsense ads, but don’t overdo it. First, your readers, then your pocket.

- Social Media: If you’re a blogger you can’t ignore social media. These days, the social power is the most important tool to use, in order to start marketing yourself. I recently wrote a post about how to take the most out of social media.

1) Traffic: You need traffic because you need people that gives your site a value on the market.

2) Diversification: What would you chose? One main income source that makes you $1K per month? Or ten income sources that makes $1K each per month? The answer is obvious

And this blog is concentrated on these two points, but mainly on the second point. You can check here for the ways to make money blogging posted on the blog so far (still a bit under construction), but today I’d like to write about how to make money blogging with your twitter account.

What do you need to make money blogging using twitter?

1) A twitter account: If you don’t have a twitter account then you are living under a rock. Making a twitter account is easy and quick, so go to Twitter’s homepage and sign up right away.

2) Followers: You need followers to make money with twitter. There’s no secret formula to get millions of followers. So how to get followers? Just by promoting your twitter account just the way you would advertise your blog / site. Avoid the typical “ You follow me and I follow you”. Why? Because you need TARGETED audience, and people who follow you because you follow them won’t even care about your tweets, they will only want you to increase they twitter counter.

3) A blog: It’s interesting to have a twitter account that’s linked to your blog, because that’s where you’ll get your targeted audience. If your blog is about how to make money blogging, you know for sure that each and every follower is interested in ways to make money blogging, and probably about ways to make money online generally. That’s what you need to exploit.

How can you monetize your twitter account?

1) Sponsored tweets: You can use SponsoredTweets . What’s sponsored tweets?

“Sponsored Tweets is a new Twitter advertising platform that connects advertisers with tweeters. Advertisers can create sponsored conversations on Twitter. Tweeters can earn money for spreading the word.”

In other words, just like Google Adsense and Google Adwords. The big difference is that with twitter sponsor you’ll get paid just by making the tweet, no matter if there’s a click or an action from your followers.
There are a few conditions, like a particular amount of followers or twitter account’s age. You can check them on the sponsoredtweets site.

2) Affiliate programs: If you’ve follow a few rules about how to get twitter followers, you’ll have targeted audience. This is just great, because you will have potential customers ready to listen to your recommendations.

3) Links: You can charge a particular amount of money by adding a url on a tweet or even on your twitter design, on the background.

I’d recommend to try these options when having a solid followers group and a big amount, because otherwise you may lose them.

11) Make contests: You’ll want to make contests for several reasons:

11.1) Returning, returning, returning: A normal reader can become a loyal reader if you make contests.

11.2) Building yourself a reputation: If you give out good prices, you’ll get known.

11.3) Geting visitors: Depending on the kind of contests you make, contests can bring you tons of traffic. As an example, twittering a particular post.

12) Use the tools: You’ve the tools to succeed, use them! You need to start thinking as aninternet marketer if you want to make money blogging. Twitter, as an example, isn’t a funny site, it’s a powerful marketing tool that can give you traffic and money.

13) Tutorials: Readers love tutorials, post some from time to time. Tutorial posts are the ones that get more backlinks, hence, more visits.

14) Ilustrate: Ilustrating your posts will make them look better. Be sure to upload images related to the blog’s topic.

How to make money blogging with sponsored posts

In order to profiting from this way you’ll need:
-> Traffic: Making money with featured / sponsored posts is a source that comes from advertisers. As always, advertisers requires traffic to advertise on a site, so you’ll need traffic to be able to post sponsored posts.
-> Reputation: You need reputation. Advertisers may use your services because you’re well known on the blogging world. How to get reputation? By being honest.
-> Influence: Advertisers may want you to use your influence in order to get sales from a particular product.
Don’t worry, you’ll be able to get these three requirements with the time and a few good manners.
So what’s a sponsor post’s all about? Advertisers contact you asking you for a sponsored post about a particular product / service or even a website.
There are two kinds of sponsored posts:
Posting it by yourself: You make the review, you post it, you earn the money.
Text sent by the advertisers: The advertiser may send you the post itself. You may want to review it and edit it.
Be honest reviewing the product. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t like what you’re posting, be honest.
The good thing about this way is that you can take a lot of money for it.

As an example, Jonh Chow took 700$ for 5 lines. The most traffic and reputation you have, the better.

In fact, too many people can set up a blog and write, making a strong competition for almost all niches out there, hence, it’s very hard for a new blogger to succeed now than it was 3 years ago.

Anyway, don’t be sad, it’s still possible to succeed. Here goes a personal tip list that I consider essential to build your way towards your success.

Blogging Tips [to make money blogging]

This list is full of blogging tips. Some tips are just that, blogging tips, others will help you to make money blogging.

1) First, your niche: The niche is the topic you’re blogging about. Get a low competitive and high profitable niche. This is usually harder than it looks like.

2)  A niche you’re passionate about?: Most bloggers say you need to blog about what you’re really passionate about. I’d say it’s half true and not true. From one hand, you need to talk about things you know. You can’t teach people to make money blogging if you haven’t made any. From the other hand, you just need to enjoy what you’re talking about, because blogging about a topic will lead to a topic-research, so, you’ll get more and more knowledge about the topic each day.

3) So don’t be afraid: To chose a niche you’re not an expert on. Nobody knows everything about a particular topic. That’s one of the most things I love from blogging, the possibility to learn more about a topic you love. Loving a topic doesn’t mean knowledge about it.

4) Planification: Divided on 3 parts:

4.1) Market research: Provide what readers want. Provide what competition fails to.

4.2) Keyword research: You may want to check a post I wrote once (adword keyword tool). The key here is to chose keywords that get’s a lot of traffic, but also remember, the less competitive, the better.

4.3) Web design: It’s an important factor. Use a friendly design for both SEO spiders and readers. Remember my #1 rule: Humans are lazy.

5) Don’t listen: To those bloggers saying it’s not possible to succeed now. They’re probably too afraid that you overtake them.

6) Don’t be affraid: To invest money. Although it’s not necessary, it’d be good to use some paid services, such as Aweber, that will give you a high ROI. Don’t be afraid, wise invest pays off.

7) Market yourself: Carl Ocab recently stated that marketing is more important than content. And it’s true, but I’d like to emphasize on this one.

7.1) Marketing yourself: To recieve visits. As an example, Carl is known as the KidBlogger, I’d be known as the Spanish Blogger etc. Marketing yourself will build you a reputation that will get you visitors

7.2) Good Content: To make a loyal readers group. You can check this post (How to get loyal readers) for tips about how to build a loyal group. The good thing about them is that they’ll be returning to your blog everyday for new updates.

This post is getting too long. This is the 8 ) tip. Don’t post loooong articles. It’s harder to read than a normal size article.
