Have you tested your blog on every browser?

Designing a blog theme –or any kind of site- can be really a headache, especially if –like tons of bloggers- you’re just starting and you’re trying to modify something to make your blog cooler, to give it a better looking.

It’s a task that can give us real problems- and more than ever if we don’t make backups- so I’ve came with a tool that’s really useful when it comes to designing.

If you’re not a designer, there’s nothing else to do than start from scratch. We all start by looking on Google for some tutorials about “How to learn PHP”. Even better if the title says “How to learn PHP on three simple steps”.

The main problem when it comes to modifying a wordpress theme –as an example but as said, can be for every type of website- is the CSS.

What’s wrong with CSS you wonder? Well, nothing especial. To tell the truth, CSS is one of the most useful coding languages out there. The problem is compatibilities issues, especially with IE.

Apart from the typical fixes that run over the net for each particular bug, there are some tools that make the task easier.

In fact, I’m sure I’m not the only one that has started to pimp its wordpress theme and gone through this situation: we look at the theme and say “Huh, I bet I can do something better. Start fight with the pixels and the div tabs and, finally, after 36 hours of work, has everything put where it should be.

Just when everything’s happiness, when you’re proud, you implement the design and, a few days later, you receive an email saying:

“Hey your blog seems weird on my IE, just so you know”.

Damn.

Well, to avoid this typical situation, you can use this tool, which will preview your blog –or any URL you enter- within a large list of browsers, allowing you to easily spot bugs.

The tool is named Browser Screenshot and it’s pretty useful, really. Give it a shot.

I hope that you could easier avoid the situation stated before, but remember there’s always something to do.

Thanks for reading.

I’ve only tested mine to see if it works with Firefox and Internet Explorer.
