Having or not passion about a particular topic, about the topic we’re blogging about, doesn’t mean we will have hundreds of ideas to post about every day.
Depending on our post frequency, we may face a day on which we won’t have a clue about what to blog or what to post.
Every blogger faces that problem sometime on the blogging run. It’s not a nice situation when hour passes by and you still don’t get something.
So that’s why I sat in front of my pc and thought about sharing ways to get ideas to post about.
Getting Ideas to Post About
Inspiration is temporally, so every time it comes you should profit, sit down and start writing some ideas to develop. It can take some hours but you will get a nice amount of ideas there. There’s the tip number one. Take advantage inspiration moments.
If you have a blog that pretends to teach something about a particular subject, there’s a trick you will always want to use, and it’s to think as a newbie on that subject. It’s amazing how many ideas I’ve gotten using this “technique”.
The most stupid the question looks like, the better… Newbies don’t ask questions because they think they’ve an obvious question but in fact are great questions. Think like one of them.
If you’re using this technique, it could be a great idea to ask someone who doesn’t have a clue about the topic. Yes, I ask my wife to shot me questions about how to make money blogging. I get ideas and have a great time, so we both win.
If you want to get ideas but you’re not looking at forums, you’re blind. Apart from getting ideas you can check what’s hot and make even better posts.
I strongly recommend checking the Problogger Community. It’s full of resources and very interesting discussions, apart from the ability to directly talk with professional bloggers such as Darren Rowse or Daniel Scocco.
I recently made a post about brainstorming. You can check it, as it’s a great way to get ideas.
Twitter. Who doesn’t know what Twitter is all about? Well, it’s another good source. The problem is that most twitter users only follow people to be followed back, and that makes it hard.
Obviously checking other blogs will get you ideas, but I don’t like to abuse that because I may write something similar to another blogger, and I don’t like that.
Sometimes you won’t feel like getting ideas, but don’t worry, they will come
