How to increase your marketing ROI

The term ROI isn’t too much popular when it comes to make money blogging, but that’s because most bloggers mostly concentrate on Adsense.

The fact is that you can make money blogging making landing pages within your own blog and advertising that particular blog’s page.

So, as advertising takes money, I’ve came today with some simple tips to increase your ROI.

But before start giving tips to increase the ROI, let me begin by defining what the term ROI means.

What does ROI means when it comes to make money blogging?

This term is used as a marketing term. It means Return on Investment and it’s used when an investment is made on a particular operation, so we make use of it to define the benefits after the investment made. Let me show you an example.

Amount Spent for advertisement = $20

Amount Earned from the advertised product = 40$

ROI = -$20 + $40 = +20$

So as you’ve figured out, the higher ROI, the more benefits, so that’s when the tips come in use.

What do you need to increase your ROI?

As the way I see it, and the way I’ve experienced, you need five main factors to increase your ROI and maximizing your profit. Each and every factor can be achieved, so there are no excuses, as when advertising and selling, there’s no too much room for luck.

So let’s see which tips we are talking about.

-          Analyzing the market: If you want to make money blogging, better said, if you want to make money, you will need to make a plan and analyze the market you pretend to exploit. When it comes to selling a particular product by advertising, it’s ESSENTIAL to look at the market needs. Ask yourself what would you need if you were interested on that particular market. Does anyone else offering the product that fits your needs? Then ask yourself the same question again, until you find a need that isn’t fitted and develop the idea. That’s a very important point, as selling a product that the most people already has will make you lose money.

-          Targeted traffic: Everything is easier if you’re talking to a targeted audience. How to advertise to a targeted audience? Just by analyzing the market and choosing the right place to advertise. I like to use the “filtering” way. Let me explain it. The first filter must be the language. You won’t get too many sales if you advertise, say, an English product, if you advertise it to a French audience. Although some may speak and understand English, probably a majority won’t, so it’s better not to risk it. A second filter could be the niche used to advertise. You won’t be able to have great sales advertising a coaching blogging program on a sports niche. There are some filters you may use, but as I say, those filters will exclusively depend on the results obtained when analyzed the market.

-          Targeted ads: Similar to the points stated above. When you have made the market research and got the targeted traffic, you need now targeted ads. If you’ve understood the points stated before, you will know now how to advertise targeted ads.

-          Imagination: Can’t sell without having a bit of imagination. Why? Because you need something that stands you out of the crowd on this business. On blogging this can be achieved by great and usefull content, on advertising by offering something in return. Yes, you can offer something on return when advertising a product, like a freebie or a discount for another product… Use your imagination; just be sure that the price paid by the buyer clearly overtakes the freebie given.

-          Talent: I think it’s the best way to call it. You need talent (plus trying and researching) to advertising with the lowest PPC rate possible. It isn’t too hard to achieved, you will just need to do some keyword research.

I won’t count luck as a key factor to get sales and increase your ROI, as if done well, you will succeed, but still yes, you will need a bit of luck.
