It’s Christmas, a day to spend with the family, so I’ll keep this post simple, short and straight to the point.
As I said, it’s Christmas, a time where a normal human is pretty busy but we, bloggers –super humans- are even busier, because apart from the regular things to do we still have to take care of our blog, that’s why I’ve decided to collect some ideas about what can you write on Christmas days.
Although you can write the typical Merry Christmas message, you can still go further and write something that’s even more useful than that.
The main problem is the lack of time during the holydays, but there some kind of posts that are really appropriated.
So what can you post about on Christmas?
- Review posts: This is a perfect excuse to post about your blog’s best of this year. Although I would reserve it for New Year’s Eve, you can make use of it on Christmas.
It’s more helpful that it looks, because humans are lazy so they’ll be grateful to have the best of this year all put together within a post.
You will win too, and you will see a big effect on your pageviews average.
- Promotions: As this stage is the one where we give gifts to our family, friends, pals, etc; you can give your readers a present too.
If you’re selling a product or giving away an ebook or something similar, you can offer a discount –I mean a big one- to your readers and be just like Santa.
How can this bring me profit you wonder? Well, I guarantee you’ll see a big increase in sales. It’s just human behavior, “if it’s a discount I’m buying it”.
- Contests: Something funny on funny holydays. You can make contests, either for every visitor or for your Twitter Followers, for those who are subscribed to your email newsletter… As it’s Christmas, you will see a high participation rate.
You can play it wise and make the contest for subscribers or Twitter followers only. This way guarantees you some bunch of new followers / subscribers.
Apart from that, I bet other bloggers will help you and give away some prices too, just like Daniel Scocco was doing.
Last tip about contests: Be sure you give some cool gifts. A cool gift doesn’t necessary means expensive gifts but just original and useful ones.
- You can make a poll, as it’s a great way to know your audience, what they want, how they want it…
- And last but not least, you can make a post about what to post on Christmas!
I would like to finish wishing you Merry Christmas and amazing holydays. Enjoy with the family or with whoever you stay these days. Thanks for taking a look at the blog on such a day.
Now you’ve read my post, let’s enjoy a bit the offline life!

Nice post.
You’ve given some good ideas. I haven’t used these one’s, but I will be using this for upcoming events.
Anyway I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas.

Thanks. I really didn’t have a clue about what to post, so I thought
“Why don’t post something about what to post?”
And voilá
Merry Christmas to you too.

I personally like to keep my Christmas post as short as possible because I would hate to hold onto my reader for so long on Christmas day.
Merry Christmas to you too Sam!
