One of the main blogger’s concerns is how to increase their Google PageRank.
While most of those who want to increase the PR of their site don’t even know what PR means, there are several reasons for them to increase it.
Some want to increase it because it’s cool, others because they think they’ll get a better SERP (Search Engine Ranking Position), etc.
While some will say you PR is important, others will say it’s not. But what’s the true beyond the Google PageRank?
Getting a high PR can’t hurt you right? Right, so as it’s good to take care about your Google Pagerank, you shouldn’t focus on it, as if you’re first class on your niche, you won’t need to worry about it, because backlinks will come by themselves. But let’s start from the beginning.
What’s the Google Pagerank?
It isn’t your page’s rank on Google for a certain query. Google pagerank is an algorithm made by Google which calculates your site’s popularity. This means, the popularity from links pointing towards your site.
If you want a higher PageRank, start getting as many links as possible! Now that’s a true fallacy. Two links from a PR5 and one from a PR6 will benefit you more than ten PR2 and one PR 3 links.
In fact, you should be careful about the in and outgoing links, as you may get penalized by Google, dropping your SERP. Why? Because Google don’t like paid links, or fraudulent links.Using a nofollow tag will protect you against it. The nofollow tag prevents Google bot to follow a given link.
But why would you want to increase your Pagerank? Because it will give you popularity and authority. And those are two of the most important key factors each and every blogger should have. Apart from that, you can make money blogging thanks to your PR, as some advertisers also look for it. So
How can I increase my pagerank?
The best way is to increase it using the natural way, by having great and unique content. That will lead on backlinks to your blog from bloggers around the world, and apart from generating traffic, it will also increase your Pagerank.
Submiting your site to directories will also help. You must check if the directory has nofollow tags, by looking on the source code. If you notice them, it’s useless to submit it, as nofollow tags avoid the link juice transfer. One of the most famous if not the most is Dmoz directory, and it worth a try.
Article submission helps too, although this one will help boost your traffic more than your pagerank.
I always leave links to my blog. Forum signatures, comments on other blogs, emails footer… You must take advantage from every opportunity you have. Making an account on popular sites and having a link to your blog will increase your pagerank too.
Link exchanges are good choices too. It’s a great task that helps you on several ways. Why? Because in order to make a link exchange with another blog, you’ll need to build a relationship with bloggers, a very important factor of a successful blogger. In oder to make a successful link exchange, you shouldn’t go for the big fishes first if you’re just starting, as chances are you won’t get a deal. Look for blogs on your niche, and act first. This means, put the blogger’s link first and then ask to make a link exchange.
Find RELATED blogs. As an example, my topic is how to make money blogging. I won’t ask for a link exchange with a loan/finance blog, as it’s useless.
And last but not least, social bookmarking. The SMO (social media optimization) is very profitable. Use social media wisely, as it will provide you a second source of traffic income apart from search engines.
We’ve got tons of tools. Let’s use them!

Hi,
Although not an expert, I’ve come to conclusion that writting quality and especially relevant content is probably the best base for getting incoming links and SERP.
Best regards,
José

Yup, good and unique content should be the first matter for every blogger. Not only for SERP and getting incoming links, but also to build yourself a reputation among the tons of bloggers out there

To start earning money with your blog, initially use Google Adsense but gradually as your traffic increases, keep adding more and more money making programs to your site.

So would you say that Chitika is the best second choice if you don’t want to use Adsense on a certain site? Or is there something better?
