Today I’d like to write about some common misunderstandings around blogging and mostly around the make money blogging journey.
This is mostly for those who’re just starting or are thinking about setting up a blog. It can save you time and money. Those who have been blogging for some time now will surely agree with me.
It can save you time because making a blog, and I mean truly make it and not doing the typical two weeks blogging trip and then leave it, takes a lot of time. Both to build it and to succeed.
Apart from that, having the right concept around blogging and what you can achieve with it will save you money too because you will have some fees to pay, such as hosting, domain name, design…
Some will look at this post from a negative point of view, others from a positive one. Truth is that it isn’t positive or negative; it’s just a post that will make the blind new bloggers see what’s around the blogging world.
So which misunderstood am I talking about?
1) A wonderful world: You may have heard successful bloggers saying they make tons of money with just working a couple of hours per week.
While the first part of the sentence is true, I mean professional bloggers make more money per month than a doctor makes per year, I must completely disagree with the second part. At least partially.
It’s true that those probloggers out there just “work” a couple of hours per week to make that incredible amount of money, but hey, how much time did they have to spend WHEN STARTING?
Sure that you can work on your blog three hours per week and make that amount of money. But in order to do that, you first need traffic and audience, and boy, I guarantee you that getting those two key factors will take you more than a couple of hours per week.
To sum up, you can make money blogging by blogging for a couple of hours, but that’s when the house is already built. It worth the time spent when starting, but get ready to work like you haven’t done before!
2) The lovely community: How many times have you read that, when blogging, to be loved you need to give love before? Forget about it here.
Some big bloggers always give the “build relationships” blogging tip, but they don’t apply themselves.
Unless you purpose them a deal where they could make an incredible amount of money / reputation / money, chances are you will just be ignored.
Fortunately, those are just a small minority, and bloggers will often help you, but get ready to get your face slapped.
3) The only way to make money blogging is to teach how to make money blogging / online: Wrong. In fact, it’s one of the lowest paying niches out there. There are tons of niches that can make you good money apart from this one.
I choose to write about ways to make money blogging because I like to write about it, that’s all. I’ve the experience to tell someone what worked for me and what didn’t. Besides, my blog gives blogging tips to make money blogging, so I can talk about hundreds of things apart from just the monetization side.
4) Making money online is easy: Wrong. Those guys you see making thousands per month were in the right place, at the right time, and met the right people. Does this mean you are late to make money? No. It just means it will be harder than before, and each day you lose without getting your blog will make it even harder, so start blogging today!
5) You can’t make money blogging: I love this one. If you heard this from a blogger, it’s just because he/she’s too afraid of competition. You can make money when you want. It will take time, skills and lots of perseverance, but you can.
Now you know this, start blogging and show what you have! If you want, you will make it.
Thanks for reading.

Yes, people get confused because they search on Google ” Make money online ” and see blogs like Carl Ocab or John Chow making thousands per month and just get on that niche.

I have to agree with the first point. Many people think that bloggers only spent couple of hours a week and make big money, but they don’t know what kind of determination and hard work bloggers need to get to that point.

I’d say it takes a couple of years instead of a couple of hours.

I also think that making money in the make money online niche isn’t as easy as it looks. With the massive competition and massive ausience this niche has it just becomes to difficult to earn a income from these niche.
Especially because everyone knows about how to make money and affilate marketing, it makes the proccess harder.
